A sweeping orchestral cue from the Pearl Harbor score is broadly charting today, tracked across 42 country and platform charts after a brief dip. Written by Hans Zimmer for Michael Bay's 2001 war epic, the piece is the soundtrack's emotional centerpiece — a slow-building, melancholy theme that has long outlived the film's mixed reception. Its return coincides with renewed visibility for Zimmer himself, who recently scored Euphoria's third season and whose Bleeding Fingers collective now supplies the score for the final season of The Bear, per Variety. The track has racked up tens of millions of plays in its various re-recordings on streaming, including a 2021 version featuring cellist HAUSER. It remains one of Zimmer's most enduring standalone compositions.
