Foo Fighters are currently on their first major tour run since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, and Saint Cecilia is moving with them. The title track of the surprise free EP the band released on November 23, 2015 — originally dedicated to the victims of the Paris attacks — is now broadly charting across more than 300 country and platform charts, a vintage resurgence timed to the band's return to arenas. The EP was recorded at the Hotel Saint Cecilia in Austin and dropped alongside Dave Grohl's announcement of an indefinite hiatus, giving the song a weight that outlasted its moment; it peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart in 2016. The Rocking 1000 collective, which had previously organized a thousand musicians to cover Foo Fighters' Learn to Fly, later mounted a crowd-sourced recording of this song as well — an unusual second life for a deep cut. A new album cycle is driving fresh ears back through the catalog.
