2Pac — Dear Mama

The track was also featured in the 2003 documentary Tupac: Resurrection, cementing its role as the anchor of Shakur's biographical record on screen. Originally the lead single from Me Against the World — which, per Wikipedia, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 while Shakur was incarcerated — the song samples Joe Sample's piano and The Spinners to build a West Coast soul backdrop for one of rap's most direct maternal tributes.
